So I'm having lunch today with a co-worker and we are talking about the little and I mention that my wife and I have cute nicknames for him. Wifey's is "Bug" and mine is "Moose." Well, when my co-worker heard that she said that I can label him like that. If I do, then he'll grow up to be a dumb high school football player that will end up bagging groceries at the local Kroger while driving a rusted out pick up truck and living in my basement.
I have a different take on it. I think by calling him "Moose," he'll grow up to a football player, but one that is intelligent, full of drive and determination and will be top of his class. Why do I say that? Well, it's simple. Think of the well-to-do kids named Biff, Skip or Chip; at least one of them is nicknamed "Moose." These guys tend to be leaders of their group, go off to Harvard or Yale (where the nickname travels with them), get drafted by the NFL and eventually become successful and take care of their aging parents.
Well, since Little E is only a few weeks old, shouldn't that be where I see him going? I think so. At the very least, now I have a vision for my son. Whether or not he does it is up to him.
